Author

I am an Appalachian historian and digital storyteller who created AppalachianHistorian.org to record the region’s labor struggles, forgotten landmarks, and enduring folk traditions. By pairing primary-source research with site photography, I translate local memories into accessible narratives for scholars and neighbors alike.

Beyond the blog, I serve as Administrative Assistant to the Provost at Alice Lloyd College, where I help and support cross-campus projects, support faculty initiatives, and advocate for student success. This role lets me bridge strategic planning with on-the-ground problem-solving skills. I refine this further as the college’s esports coach, guiding teams through data-driven practice and national competition finishes.

Continuous learning shapes every part of my work. I am simultaneously completing an MS-CYBR, M.Ed., an MBA, and an M.A. in History to deepen my toolkit at the intersection of education, business, and public history.
